anyone ever used one? just curious because i just found out that dimebag used a huge setup comprised of these, and i always thought pantera sounded too smooth to have used SS amps.

I had a Randall amp back in the 80s, an RG100. They are very smooth sounding amps. They nail the 80s metal sound as well.

Dimebag/Pantera were known for using solid state Randalls early on and throught their career.

Randalls are great metal amps. With metal, having lots of tube warmth isn't necessarily an advantage.
